Question by kshlayan16: if you get cold sores then should you not get a lip ring?
I usually get cold sores on my bottom lip from licking my lips outside in the cold (mostly during winter time) I recently started pondering the thought of getting yet again another piercing and saw the lip ring and instantly wanted it..but im worried about the winter cold sores (i am perfectly healthy and the sore is just from licking my lips outside in the cold)…so…if i am prone to getting cold sores…should i not get a lip ring?…
my mom says its because i chew at my lips when its cold outside and i lick them alot so i figured the saliva and the cold weather in turn create the cold sore. i read everywhere and all i see is herpes and it freaks me the hell out. thing is i know a lot of people that get it a lot so i dont think its so horrible….

Uh, yea… I’d stay away from the lip ring.
Or you could always try chapstick :]
