Question by Zealand F.: Is Resveratrol and TA-65 the new miracles to prevent aging and repair DNA?
An article that was in Harper’s Bazaar 10/11 magazine issue. It sates those two can be used to revers again and prolong life. http://www.harpersbazaar.com/beauty/heal…
Are those supplements a good way to revers aging and prolong life
Best answer:
Answer by MissA Sigh. No, they are not. They aren’t likely to harm you but neither is a magic pill that will drive off death.
The idea behind TA-65 is that it stimulates the production of telomerase. Telomerase stimulates the growth of telomeres, which are parts of your DNA that get shortened as you get older. Some actual reasonable people have concluded that if we were able to repair our telomeres, we could reduce the symptoms of aging and extend our lifespan. However the people behind TA-65 have not actually demonstrated that it either repairs telomeres or extends life in any reputable source that I am aware of.
Resveratrol is a natural phenol compound that actually has been shown to extend life. In fish:) It doesn’t seem to work on mammals, although when given to elderly mice they do apparently see some benefits. But younger mice do not have improved old ages if they start taking it, and nobody’s done any real testing on humans.
