Nothing seems to help improve the psoriasis except tropical climates, do any of you know of a topical ointment that may help at least soothe it a bit?

I agree! The winter really kills your skin!

The BEST product I have ever tried is “Gold Bond Medicated” cream. It’s not the cheapest product but it is definitely the best!

I have little patches of psoriasis on my elbows and one of my knees. I use some topical creams right now containing either coal tar or salicylic acid.

I heard that it’s good to put a warm rag over your face. It “opens up pores”? I just tried it, and it felt really good. What does this do? Is it better to do it before you cleanse your face? What other things can open pores?

I do this all the time. It is good for your skin, because it allows air into the pores, and reduces a build-up of oil.

You can also take hot showers to open pores or sit in a sauna if you’re on vacation.

Question by madame butterfly: I have psoriasis. What causes it to outbreak all over the body?
I have psoriasis from head to toe and everything I’ve tried either upset my stomach or didn’t do a thing to it. It is in places I can’t even say. It’s just all over in my scalp to my toes and I’m getting more new spots.
Can stress increase it along with two types of medication interacting with each other. I am on Metoprolol and Sertraline and am also pretty stressed out alot even at work.

Researchers have found 9 gene mutations that may be involved in causing psoriasis. One of these mutations on chromosome 6, called PSORS-1, appears to be a major factor that can lead to psoriasis. Mutations on genes cause certain cells to function differently.

They are so incredibly annoying (ie. distracting) and placed right alongside of the news copy that I am trying to read. They are making it (for me) so difficult to follow the text of the story that I am considering abandoning Yahoo as a news source.

Is it just me or is this bothering a noticeable number of other folks, too?

YES! If it’s the ad I’m thinking of, last year when it first started, I thought how fake the AFTER looked…. I actually ‘copied’ the AFTER photo into my editing software, blew it up & you can actually SEE where they edited, photoshopped, —actually BLURRED out the area—where the wrinkles HAD existed in the BEFORE picture! One would THINK Yahoo could scrutinize it’s sponsors for authenticity but, no, they’re in it for the $ $ $ .. glad you asked! That’s been bothering me for a while!

You would die. They don’t do lipo that extensive, it is for spot areas only. Plus they never remove all of the fat cells from any area. There are always plenty still left and you can still get fat in a place you had lipo. I have seen people get a belly again after getting lipo.
