There’s a place in your heart, and I know that it is love, make a little space, make a better place. LYRIC spoken: Think about the generations and to say we want to make it a better world for our children and our children’s children. So that they know it’s a better world for them; and think if they can make it a better place. There’s a place in your heart And I know that it is love And this place could be much Brighter than tomorrow. And if you really try You’ll find there’s no need to cry In this place you’ll feel There’s no hurt or sorrow. There are ways to get there If you care enough for the living Make a little space, make a better place. Chorus: Heal the world Make it a better place For you and for me and the entire human race There are people dying If you care enough for the living Make a better place for You and for me. If you want to know why There’s a love that cannot lie Love is strong It only cares for joyful giving. If we try we shall see In this bliss we cannot feel Fear or dread We stop existing and start living Then it feels that always Love’s enough for us growing Make a better world, make a better world. Chorus: Heal the world Make it a better place For you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying If you care enough for the living Make a better place for You and for me. Bridge: And the dream we would conceived in Will reveal a joyful face And the world we once believed in Will shine again in grace Then why do we keep strangling life …
Question by PJJ: Opinions on Kangaroo Wound Care Options?
I have a kangaroo joey with a severe leg injury from hanging in a fence. I’ve had totally contradictory advice from two separate vets, and am a bit frustrated at this point. So I thought I would get some opinions from you folks. The wounds are open, nothing to stitch. You can see recent photos of them at http://www.flickr.com/photos/pattis_place/ but don’t click if you are squeemish! Ok, he’s on daily antibiotic injections, but I am of two minds whether I should be using something like an antiseptic powder to dry the wounds out, or an antibiotic ointment? I am changing the dressings daily. I apply a non-stick dressing, then soft thick roll gauze, then vet wrap. What do you guys think? Dry it out or keep it moist?
They can’t be stitched closed. There’s nothing left to stitch. Yes, I know, it hurts me too look at them too…but believe it or not the little fella is still up and hopping around as much as I will let him. If it was me I would be in bed and on pain pills!!!

I’m not a vet, but have had pets my whole life, and children. My thoughts would be to have it stitched closed, and that moist might promote healing better than drying it out which sounds like it would only kill off the tissues.
Poor little baby, I do hope he gets well soon! (Your pictures weren’t that graphic, but I did get a tear in my eye for him!)
