Question by Jurv: Why did the gel that I extracted from my aloe vera plant turn red after a couple days in a mason jar?
I bought an Aloe Vera plant and extracted some gel from a couple leaves. I put the gel in a mason jar to save it for a later use. The next day the clear gel turned red. Is this normal and if so how long is my aloe vera gel good for?

Probably a bacterial or fungal growth, as well as fermentation. The gel should be kept refridgerated.
