There are plenty of vegetables other than mushrooms that are rich in antioxidants. Red wine and tea are also good sources. Mushrooms are also rich in folate.
Answering your question, prevent and protect are almost the same thing and no I don’t believe that a healthy diet alone will prevent you from dove loping cancer. I think it certainly goes along way in decreasing your chances of dove loping cancer but things such as excersise, not smoking and genetics also play a role.
