Using Barbara Walters & Morely Safer’s photos online to advertise a free sample, then stick you for $ 87.13? Their customer service number refuses to give a mailing address or name of the company, so I cannot even file a complaint with the BBB…does anyone know the name / contact info of this company that advertises online using Barbara and Morely to gain people’s trust?
Thanks old time…about drinking wine…Dr. Oz said it would take 1,000 bottles a day…sorry, but my tolerance isn’t that high.

It’s not any one company or another that won over their trust… it’s the nutrient itself. Resveratrol is a fantastic antioxidant on it’s own, but unfortunately, it’s a big fad right now (which Barbara, Morely, Oprah, and Dr. Oz have all helped to boost to bigger popularity) and whenever a big fad comes around, there are always unscrupulous people and companies that jump on the bandwagon to get their piece of the action.
Any of the “free offers” tend to be scams because they have to pay for the free bottles by charging more for the second bottle… it’s best to avoid them. And yes, far too many people fall for the idea of free stuff, so you’re not alone.
The best place to buy any Resveratrol would be reputable companies that have good quality so you know what you’re getting. There are many higher quality companies out there that are readily available and well priced… just make sure the company has a good rating with either the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) or USP (U.S. Pharmacopoeia), as those are the main quality assurance organizations (USP is for the U.S., GMP is for the U.S. and worldwide).
Your local health food store would be a good place to start looking, but there are a few online companies that are reliable and don’t offer “automatic reshipment” that you can try. Feel free to E-mail me and I can point out a few of the better ones.
Also, for what it’s worth, you can submit a complaint to the BBB if you have a website or at least a phone number for the company. If nothing else, you can send an E-mail and they can make whatever report they can.
In the mean time, if you put that charge on a credit card, dispute the charge with the card company… they can usually get you the money back. Good luck and I hope I helped!
