Question by Digz: Hair loss due to seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis?
I unfortunately have psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis(which i believe i have both on my scalp) 50% of my hair has fallen out in the past 2 years. it’s embarrassing! What can i do to stop my hair from falling out and when will it grow back?

Best answer:

Answer by W
the skin conditions you have will not cause your hair to fall out. It is most likely genetic. You can be tested for Lupus, which can cause you to lose hair. Also, stress, internal illness, recent surgery can cause you to lose hair quickly, but if these are the causes, it will eventually grow back. Try Rogaine to keep the hair that you have left.

Question by : Eczema?????????????????
my baby who is 51/2 months was diagnosed with seborrheic eczema on the face and was perscirbed hydro cortisone cream the thing is the patches on his face were not red itching or raised it was just in some area of his face was become discolored(lighter than his normal skin) mostly around the mouth, cheeks and chin area i used the cortisone cream as prescribed and it cause the area to become more discolored i stopped using the cream and when checked up found it contains steroid which can thin out the skin went to the derm. told him what happened and that i was not interested in those types of creams he prescribed me datacort and when i read it has cortisone 1% in it so now his ped & derm has perscribbed me with cortisone creams. I started using cetaphil mixed with sheabutter and coconut oil to moisture his skin and there is slight improvement in the colour tone of his skin is there anything else i can use to help with the discoloration and does it sound like seborrheic ezcema as it does not irritate him some one suggested nizoral and use aloe vera gel to help with the discoloration as i have an aloe plant.ye he also has cradel cap but it looks like dandruff white dry scalp please helpppppppppppppp.

Best answer:

Answer by LadyQ
I was going to suggest Coconut oil but I see that you are already using it or is it mixed in with the Cetaphil? If not go down to your organic food store and purchase you a jar of Raw natural coconut oil and just use that it works wonders… I used it on my nephew who had a bad case of eczema on his face as a new born and it went away and didn’t return for months, so I purchased a jar of it for my brother and he uses it daily.

Answer by healthwise357
heredity and genetics play a vital role in passing eczema from one generation to another. it may appear at some point in your lives especially when the immune system is low.

to avoid eczema flare ups there are lot of things to consider like:

* keeping fingernails trimmed
* using an all natural moisturizer throughout the day
* hydrating the skin by drinking loads of water
* avoiding foods that are processed and that have preservatives
* use natural fabrics that are soft
* avoid tight, rough and scratchy clothes
* do not sweat it, avoid activities that makes you sweat
* avoid temperatures that are extremely hot and cold
* avoid drastic change of weather
* try not to scratch the infected area
* watch and check out diet

Ever since I was a child,I was diagnosed with eczema.Recently I haven’t been that itchy.
Can u be healed of eczema?

Best answer:

Answer by cassiem
I also suffer from eczema. There is no definite cure for eczema, but it can be controlled with creams and medication. For me, my eczema tends to come in patches. For a while(like right now, sadly) it will be everywhere and I’ll be so itchy! But then it usually goes away after a while, but then comes back again later. Like a cycle.
