The ugly truth about a bed sore on your ass. Unfortunately after 35 years of being in a wheelchair I have found myself with the first bed sore I have ever had. You will see this band sore after 11 days using a wound vacuum. It is ugly and you will see how it looks after two months of laying in bed and going insane as the world moves around you and your mind is overwhelmed. Claustrophobia, low blood pressure, bad nursing care, hitting the emergency room and many more things occurred during this period.

Question by Suzie_Is_Mizzing: What is the best way to care for a wound that is packed?
I’m kinda scared to touch it but I will anyway. I just want to make sure it doesn’t get any worse. I have to get it repacked on Saturday. What’s the best care I can do at home while waiting?

Keep it clean and dry. When you go into the shower, put in in a ziplock bag to make it water tight. If you are going somewhere to get it repacked it is obvious that they know what they are doing, so you don’t really have to much to worry about. Just no mud fighting.
