Question by Shelley T: Homemade cosmetics – Where do I get a safety assessment certificate from and what is the process?
I want to make and sell lipbalms, soaps, shaving soap, bath milks, mascara and a multi-use mineral powder (can use it on eyes, cheeks etc). All the items will be made from natural base products and will not include preservatives, artificial colourants or fragrances. I know that all cosmetics manufactured in the EU have to comply with the safety regulations revised in 2004 but how do I go about getting certified for my products?
