Question by Endless_Nameless: Cold sores…?
About a week ago, a friend of mine asked if he could taste a weird European beer I was drinking. After I let him have some and then resumed drinking, I remembered that he had oral herpes. He insisted that herpes could only be spread with mucous-to-mucous contact, although I believed otherwise.

Yesterday some kind of small red scab appeared about my lip and I assumed it was herpes. I did some research and found that oral herpes is supposedly painful and itchy, and I have not experienced this at all. Also, supposedly you can feel irritation on the spot a day or two before the cold sore forms. Mine came out of nowhere and is not painful or itchy in any way. I haven’t experienced any symptoms besides the appearance of the sore. Maybe just some kind of zit?

So…do I have oral herpes or possibly something else? Thanks for the help.
